Here´s me doing my birch lady perfomance in Faces-festival´s Roots-village, last summer.

I made the costume myself,  it was inspired by 1800´s dresses and corsets. It´s quite masochistic dress: I had really sore hips after my performance. The framework of the dress is made out of willow, and the stick corset was tighten by an assistant...I some how wanted to feel how it is to move in such dress. I belive it wasn´t  that different than in 1800´s...I liked being inside the second skin made out of  birch bark, to breath it. I moved around the area, very slow ( in a time that trees live), feeling the wind that blew through my leaves and shook me.
